This scale is compiled weekly by Steve and Tracy Hurlburt. It was invented by their good friend Ken Love, Q.C. who tends to lick his lips and declare Yum! when he finds a wine he likes and screw up his face and go Yuck! when he really doesn't like a wine. Tracy and Steve simply took Ken's system and made it more complicated.
